Revisiting Vogue’s Best Paris Fashion Week Street Style

We’ve revisited nearly a decade’s worth of Vogue street style coverage in New York, London, and Milan this month, but something about Paris has us feeling particularly nostalgic. Maybe it’s because so many of the wildest, funniest, most memorable photos have been taken in the City of Light; we even resurfaced a few from Phil Oh’s first season in 2011. There’s Michelle Elie high-kicking in her iconic “flat” Comme des Garçons look; Anna Dello Russo chatting with perplexed security guards; countless photos of Hanne Gaby Odiele flexing her innate personal style; and Karlie Kloss fully surrounded by eager photographers—an image that marked a “turning point” in the surge of demand for street style coverage.

There’s joy and nostalgia to spare in these old photos (“old” in internet terms, at least), but some of our favorites were taken during the most recent round of fall 2020 shows in Paris. It’s always particularly exciting when Oh snaps someone we can’t identify—often it’s a new model, a friend of a designer, or simply a stylish passerby. On that note, he’s on the lookout for more submissions in the #VogueStreetStyleChallenge and will choose his favorites soon. If you haven’t entered yet, get inspired by our all-time best street style photos from Paris Fashion Week, here.
