Australian spring fashion trends to try in 2020

Pastels

Accepting colour into your wardrobe can be hard for some – yes, we're talking letting go of the black, white and beige tones. Right now, embracing a brightly-coloured outfit is super on trend. If you wanted to get specific, we're spotting pretty pastel shades of purple, green, blue, pink and yellow anywhere and everywhere. You can piece them together with basic colours, or rock pastels head to toe for a totally Instagrammable look.

Puffy sleeves

Puffy sleeves first came to fruition last year, and it seems like they're not going anywhere for a while. In fact, the sleeves are getting bigger! If you're looking to make a statement, these larger-than-life sleeves can do that for you. Take your pick from an array of styles, including ones that have some structure to them, or something a little more flirty and sheer.

Tie-dye

Tie-dye was one of the hottest things to come out of quarantine. With all that time on our hands, it seemed as if everyone was DIY-ing it at home. Not feeling that creative? You're in luck, because the psychedelic pattern can be found in almost every fast fashion retailer. Some of the more popular styles include oversized T-shirts, loungewear sets and accessories such as socks.

Baggy jeans

Ladies and gents, it's time to say goodbye to the skinny jean and embrace those baggier styles. Whether it's a wide leg, flared or boyfriend cut, oversized denim is all the rage right now. While it may not be the most flattering of silhouettes, it sure is comfortable. The type of top you pair with it can drastically change the overall vibe, so if shape is something you're worried about, opt for something tight fitting on top.
