Australian spring fashion trends to try in 2020

Spring is the time to let go of those winter layers and experiment with fashion. Whether it be a new style or cut, fun colour or a quirky print, spring is all about having fun with what you're wearing.

This year, we unfortunately missed out on Australian Fashion Week due to COVID-19. While we would usually look to the runways for our spring fashion trends, this year we've looked at what's trending overseas and what's popping up on our Instagram feeds.

Keep on scrolling to see the hottest fashion trends we're going to be rocking this spring.

Florals

As Miranda Priestly's famous line in The Devil Wears Prada states "Florals for spring? Groundbreaking." No, but really, florals are super on-trend this year, especially since we've all been in isolation. As the sun starts to shine, it seems as if the girly floral patterns have come out to play. In particular, we've been seeing tons of flirty floral dresses – whether that be a long or short sleeve, or a bodycon or maxi style.

Loungewear

Don't want to let go of the loungewear you were rocking all winter long? Great news – you don't have to! It seems as if the loungewear trend isn't going anywhere, with an array of retailers dropping versions appropriate for the warmer weather. Replace those sweatpants with some soft shorts, and those hoodies with a comfy T-shirt. Who says you can't be comfortable and stylish at the same time?

Cardigans

In case you missed it, the cardigan (which is usually worn by your grandmother) is one of the hottest trends this spring. The cozy knitted piece is arriving in an array of colours, including bright tones and pastels. We also love cardis for their versatility – pair one over a cute summer dress for when it gets a little chilly, or undo a few buttons and rock your cardi with some mom jeans and sneakers.
